Six low traffic neighbourhood schemes in Croydon that were declared unlawful by the High Court have been axed.

Jason Perry, the Tory borough mayor who made the LTNs permanent in 2024, announced the move in a video posted on social media that appeared designed to win him support ahead of the May 7 local elections.

But he made no mention of whether the fines wrongly issued to motorists would be refunded – or how he planned to plug the gap in the council’s finances.
