Hamilton police have arrested a man after officers seized a loaded firearm that was allegedly brought into a Stoney Creek area fast-food restaurant Thursday night.
In a release, police said at around 9:15 p.m. on March 12, officers responded to reports that a male had a firearm inside the restaurant located on Centennial Parkway North.
When officers arrived, they detained a pair of individuals, and during a search of one of the males, they located a loaded handgun concealed in his waistband.
The firearm was a Glock-style handgun, police said, and had an extended magazine with 20 rounds, and one round was also in the chamber.
Jesse Murie, 19, was arrested and charged with multiple firearm-related offences.
Police said at the time of his arrest, Murie was bound by a court-ordered undertaking prohibiting him from possessing firearms, ammunition, or related devices.
His bail has been opposed.
