A woman found dead inside a North York residence on Wednesday was a victim of a homicide, Toronto police say.

Officers were initially called shortly after 1:30 p.m. for a medical complaint at a home in the area of Threadneedle Crescent and Cresthaven Drive, east of Leslie Street.

When they arrived, officers located 60-year-old Xian Wei Shao dead, police said.

In a news release on Friday night, police revealed that she is the city’s fourth homicide victim of the year.

The cause of her death is unknown.
