A disastrous 2026 for West Bromwich Albion now has the Baggies second-bottom of the Championship table and in desperate need of three points against play-off hunting Hull City.

Interim boss James Morrison – the third man to take charge of Albion this season – has said in the build up to today’s match that his side are preparing for a relegation dog fight.

That is exactly what they are in now following 13 league matches without a win – a run which goes all the way back to 29 December.

Hull City, meanwhile, bounced back from consecutive defeats in the Championship with an impressive win away at Wrexham in midweek.

The Tigers head to The Hawthorns looking for their first league double over the Baggies for 116 years (yes, you read that correctly), and have fit-again Oli McBurnie back at their disposal with the former Sheffield United striker scoring three goals in his last six matches against today’s opponents.
