“We have already destroyed 100% of Iran’s Military capability, but it’s easy for them to send a drone or two, drop a mine, or deliver a close range missile somewhere along, or in, this Waterway, no matter how badly defeated they are,” he added.
Trump did not name the other countries that would send vessels, but added that he hoped China, France, Japan, South Korea, the UK would also send warships to assist in the mission.
“In the meantime, the United States will be bombing the hell out of the shoreline, and continually shooting Iranian Boats and Ships out of the water. One way or the other, we will soon get the Hormuz Strait OPEN, SAFE, and FREE!” he added.
Trump’s comments come a day after he announced the bombing of Kharg Island, a key Iranian oil hub, about 300 miles northwest of the Strait in the northern Persian Gulf. The island is the main export terminal for some 90% of Iran’s oil shipments.
