A Toronto man is wanted after a victim was assaulted in restaurant late last week, police say.

The incident happened on March 12 near Don Mills Road and Gateway Boulevard.

Toronto police say the victim was walking into a restaurant when a male approached her. He then allegedly lunged at her and pushed her before fleeing the area.

The victim and the suspect are known to each other, investigators say.

Nour Eddin Nouman, 18, of Toronto, is wanted for one count of assault and two counts each of two counts of fail to comply with release order and criminal harassment.

He is described as having a medium build, with short black hair and a black moustache.

Nouman was last seen wearing a black zip-up hooded sweater, grey sweatpants, and white Nike Airforce shoes.
