After much speculation and reporting, Shake Shack has finally revealed that it’s Calgary-bound.
Rumours have been circulating for months on Shake Shack’s first foray into Western Canada, and now, the burger chain has officially shared details on its plans.
After teasing its Canadian expansion last year, Shake Shack has confirmed its first Alberta location is poised to open on the upper level of CF Chinook Centre, just across from the food court. The spot is slated to open this spring.
According to Shake Shack, the space is “rooted in enlightened hospitality, intentional design, and an atmosphere that brings people together.”
The spot will also feature original artwork by Calgary-based artist Irene Neyman, who is known for her use of bright colours alongside simple shapes and textures, which celebrate the city’s most recognizable landmarks.
As to what to expect in YYC, we’ll be sure to see Shake Shack’s signature menu items, such as its Angus beef burgers, chicken burgers, hot dogs, crinkle cut fries, milkshakes, frozen custards and concretes. However, the chain has also promised some “Calgary exclusives” on its menu.
With its Toronto opening, Canadian exclusives, including the Maple Salted Pretzel Shake, and concretes such as the I Heart Butter Tart, the More S’mores, and the Shack Attack, were added to the menu, so we can’t wait to see what’s in store for YYC.
