Charlie Lennon rescued a draw for Barnsley in added time against 10-man Wigan in League One.
Joe Taylor’s goal looked to be the difference between the two sides but Lennon, making his first appearance since signing in January, bundled the ball home in the sixth minute of stoppage time after Callum Wright was sent off late on.
It was Taylor who had the first real chance of the game 15 minutes in, capitalising on a series of mistakes from Barnsley’s defenders but he could not direct his effort on target.
But he would not be denied in the 29th minute as, after he latched on to Sam Tickle’s long ball forward, he cheekily lobbed goalkeeper Owen Goodman who was caught in no man’s land to give Wigan the lead.
Wright, who had hit the woodwork in the first half, was given a second yellow card in the 88th minute after tripping Corey O’Keeffe.
O’Keeffe then hit the post before 19-year-old Lennon sent the home fans wild when he bundled home from close range.
