Here are the latest updates from day 19 of the war in Israel, the West Bank, Gaza, Lebanon, Iran and the Middle East:
â– The IDF said it struck ten Basij positions in Tehran, as Iranian missile barrages triggered sirens across central and northern Israel and the West Bank. No wounded were reported, though shrapnel fell in several locations, including Holon, Or Yehuda, Tel Aviv, and Abu Ghosh west of Jerusalem, causing fires and damage to roads, a bus, and nearby buildings.
â– Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets at Israeli forces in southern Lebanon, and the IDF warned of “expanded preparations” by the organization. The military said it killed several operatives and struck launchers, infrastructure, and a logistics site in Beirut.
â– Rockets were fired at the U.S. embassy in Baghdad for the second time in 24 hours, as Iran continued attacks on Gulf states overnight, killing one person in the United Arab Emirates and prompting interceptions in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain.
â– U.S. President Donald Trump said the Iran operation is nearing completion and praised regional partners. The White House insisted Tehran posed an “imminent threat,” following the resignation of the National Counterterrorism Center chief, who criticized the war as unnecessary.
â– France said it would not join efforts to secure the Strait of Hormuz during ongoing strikes, while Germany said a military-only solution is unrealistic. Turkey launched a diplomatic effort to end the war, and a senior UAE official called for guarantees on Iran’s nuclear and missile programs.
â– Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz is severely disrupted, with traffic largely stalled. The International Maritime Organization warned that military escorts reduce risk but are not a long-term solution.
â– The United States has encouraged Syria to consider acting against Hezbollah in eastern Lebanon, though Damascus is hesitant over fears of being drawn into the wider war.
â– Lebanon’s health ministry said more than 900 people have been killed since the start of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran. Gaza health officials reported three killed, including a child, in an Israeli strike in Khan Yunis.
â– The United Nations has launched a probe into a deadly strike on a girls’ school in southern Iran, reportedly caused by a misidentified U.S. missile target, which killed at least 175 people, mostly children.
â– The United Nations said more than 36,000 Palestinians were displaced in the West Bank over the past year amid a sharp rise in settler violence, warning the pattern could amount to “ethnic cleansing.” Settler attacks rose to 1,732 incidents, up from 1,400 the previous year, with homes and farmland repeatedly destroyed.
â– The United Nations warned the Iran war could push an additional 45 million people into severe hunger globally, as disruptions to shipping, food, and fuel supplies intensify.
