A schoolboy is in hospital after he was attacked near Sefton Park last night, on Tuesday, March 17. Merseyside Police were called to Croxteth Drive in Aigburth at around 8.40pm with reports a boy, 15, had been attacked by two people.

The boy suffered several wounds to his legs and head and was taken to Alder Hey Children’s hospital, where he remains in a stable condition. Merseyside Police launched an investigation and a section of Croxteth Drive near Sefton Park and St Hilda’s High School remains cordoned off this morning.

Detective Inspector Natalie Charlesworth said: “We are still in the early stages of an investigation into what was a violent assault on a young boy near Sefton Park.

“I would urge any witnesses who were on Croxteth Drive last night and saw what happened to please come forward as soon as possible. We are determined to do all we can to find those responsible.

“Similarly if you work or live in the area and have any CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage from 8pm onwards please contact us as this may provide vital evidence.”
