Rotorua police operation in Ōwhata: Cordons lifted, police presence ongoing

Cordons have come down on Scott Ave in Rotorua following a police operation.

The public were asked to avoid the Ōwhata street due to the pre-planned operation this morning, a police statement said.

“There will be a police presence there for some time as we continue to make area inquiries.”

Police said there had been no risk to public safety and some staff were armed as a precaution.
