Calgary police confirmed Friday that two men who were released from custody last December have been arrested again in British Columbia in connection with a murder on Dec. 10, in the southeast community of Ogden.
The men, both from Edmonton, now face several charges in connection with the fatal shooting of 32-year-old Feysal Osman Abul-Aziz, who investigators claim had connections to organized crime.
At around 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 10, police were called for reports of gunshots in the 7000 block of 20 Street Southeast, where officers found the victim deceased outside his vehicle.
Calgary police said three people were later taken into custody, with assistance from the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service, including two adult males and a 17-year-old youth.
However, after being interviewed, the two men were released, while the 17-year-old was kept in custody on unrelated warrants.

Then, on March 12, RCMP in Clearwater, B.C., responded to reports of a vehicle stuck in a ditch on Highway 5 near Blue River.
Investigators said it appeared their vehicle had driven off the road during a snowstorm.
“Officers determined that two occupants were wanted in connection with this fatal shooting and [they] were arrested,” said Calgary police Staff Sgt. Mark Braun, who also confirmed the two accused were the same men who were earlier arrested and released but who later had warrants issued for their arrest.
“We were on a manhunt for those individuals,” said Braun, “so it was only a matter of time. But finding them in a ditch where they had no cell service was definitely fortuitous.”

A third occupant of the vehicle involved in the crash was later released after it was determined they were not wanted as part of the investigation.
Aken Bolakok Aken, 23, and Ayomide Opemipo Adeyinka, 21, have now been charged with one count each of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
“The youth who has remained in custody is also now charged with one count each of first degree and conspiracy murder to commit,” said Braun.
The youth cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

A Canada-wide warrant has also been issued for a fourth suspect, 22-year-old Yahya Abdullahi, who police said may be in Edmonton, the B.C. Lower Mainland or the Northwest Territories.

Police are still searching for a fourth suspect who is wanted on charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Yahya Abdullahi, 22, is described as having black hair and brown eyes, standing five feet nine inches tall and weighing approximately 120 pounds.
“Abdullahi is believed to have connections to Northern and Western Canada and may be currently in Edmonton, the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, or the Northwest Territories,” said Braun.
“We have no direct information to indicate that he is currently armed and dangerous, but one could draw that assumption given the violent nature of this offence and what transpired on Dec. 10th”
Investigators are asking with information about Abdullahi’s whereabouts to contact police.
So far they have not released any information on a possible motive for the murder.
