WASHINGTON (TNND) — Iranian Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi said that U.S. and Israeli officials wouldn’t be safe following strikes that wiped out Iran’s leadership, including former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
“From now on, based on the information we have about you, even parks, recreational areas and tourist destinations anywhere in the world will no longer be safe for you,” Shekarchi said on Iranian state television, according to the Daily Mail.
This announcement comes as many college students are going to different tourist locations for spring break.
Last month, Israel and the U.S. launched joint drone strikes on Israel over concerns that the Middle Eastern country had missiles.
In the strikes, Khamenei was wiped out and his son replaced him as the country’s supreme leader.
One day after the U.S. and Israel launched strikes against Iran, a gunman in Austin, Texas opened fire at a bar and killed two people.
Fourteen were injured and the shooter was Ndiaga Diagne, 53. Investigators discovered a Koran in the car and a shirt that said “Property of Allah.”
Iran has increased strikes across the Middle East.
Pentagon officials are making plans to deploy U.S. troops to Iran, according to CBS News.
This report contradicts President Donald Trump’s recent statements about troops on the ground.
