Leeds United welcome Brentford to Elland Road on Saturday night with a view to picking up three points and climbing away from the relegation zone.

Leeds have a three-point gap to the bottom three coming into this vital weekend of Premier League action, hosting Brentford on Saturday night.

After Leeds’ home clash with the Bees, we will be watching on to see how West Ham fare away at Aston Villa, while Spurs host Nottingham Forest.

Chris Sutton predicts Leeds United win against Brentford on Saturday night

At 8pm tomorrow night, Leeds welcome Keith Andrews’ high-flying Bees to West Yorkshire with both sides eyeing wins for contrasting reasons.

When the two sides met in mid-December, Leeds were the better side. A win that night would have dragged us much closer to the West London side, to within just a point. Since then, the Bees have gone from strength to strength as they target European qualification. Sitting in seventh, Brentford are six points off fourth place and an impressive 13 points above the Whites.

Despite the gulf between the two sides, BBC pundit Chris Sutton believes Leeds will come out with a 2-1 win on Saturday night.

“The way Brentford will set up is almost tailor-made to face Leeds, really, to hit them on the counter-attack,” Sutton writes. “Keith Andrews’ side are pushing for Europe and they will be annoyed they let a 2-0 lead slip in their 2-2 draw with Wolves on Monday.

“There could be some nervy moments for the home fans when the Bees break forward, but I am still going to back Leeds to get the job done at Elland Road.”

Huge survival boost predicted for Leeds United as Chris Sutton expects bleak results for West Ham and Nottingham Forest

All eyes then turn to what happens on Sunday afternoon.

West Ham’s trip to Aston Villa couldn’t really come at a better time for the Irons, who are in form relative to the badly struggling Villans in the Premier League.

Although, Sutton expects Villa to get back on track with a 2-1 home win.

“Villa boss Unai Emery is cutting a frustrated figure at the moment with their loss of form, but they are still in fourth place,” Sutton said. “They are going to get back on track at some point and, if they can keep Jarrod Bowen quiet, then I see them edging this one at home.”

Meanwhile, Spurs host Nottingham Forest in a mouthwatering clash in North London. Both sides need a win, and Sutton expects Igor Tudor to build on his Champions League performance with a 1-0 win.

“Nottingham Forest’s issue is that they don’t score enough goals, and that lack of attacking threat might just cost them here,” Sutton continued. “Tottenham also have a bit of positivity and momentum after Wednesday’s home win over Atletico Madrid, even though it wasn’t enough to turn around their Champions League tie. Now they need to build on that.”

Can Leeds United make life easier with Premier League relegation boost against Brentford?

As Leeds fans, we all know that life is never simple. Dominic Calvert-Lewin could’ve just rolled home that penalty last weekend and we cruise to victory against Crystal Palace.

However, if we want to avoid it going to the wire, Saturday could be the time to make a huge statement of our intent to stay up.

A win, ahead of everyone else playing on Sunday, would really lay down a marker that we’re not getting dragged into it.
