Patson Daka had a penalty saved as relegation threatened Leicester City were held to a goalless draw by play-off chasing Watford.

Hornets goalkeeper Egil Selvik denied Daka in the first half after Formose Mendy’s challenge on Abdul Fatawu sent the Zambian to the spot.

Selvik went on to deny Stephy Mavididi and Divine Mukasa while Foxes goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk did well to keep Nestory Irankunda out at the other end.

The point moved Leicester up a spot, to 22nd place, and to within a point of Portsmouth immediately above them outside the drop zone.

But there would no doubt be frustration as the Foxes left Vicarage Road knowing a victory to end what is now a 10-game winless league run away from home would have lifted them out of the bottom three.
