Victoria and David Beckham have reportedly grown distant from their son Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola, as rumors of family drama continue to swirl – but a source exclusively tells Star that they’re willing to “extend an olive branch” if it means having a relationship with their future grandchildren.
Three years after saying “I Do,” the young couple have been “openly talking” about wanting to start a family of their own soon, and David, 50, and Victoria, 51, are “pretty panicked” about what that means for them, the insider reveals.
“If they don’t fix things soon, they could very well end up cut off from their first grandchild,” adds the insider of the concerned parents, who also share kids Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14. “That’s a terrifying prospect for both of them, so there’s a new sense of urgency to sort this out.”
Amid the growing family tension, the former Spice Girl and the retired professional soccer player do feel “somewhat heartened” by the sweet birthday message that Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, penned for Harper on her 14th birthday.
As Star previously reported, Brooklyn took to his Instagram Story on June 10 to share an adorable snapshot of him, Nicola and Harper smiling for the camera.

The insider tells Star that David and Victoria took the gesture as a “positive” sign for the future of their relationship.
“For all the awfulness that has happened, there were good times,” continues the insider. “They want to meet up with Nicola and Brooklyn, and have a proper heart-to-heart to clear the air so they can get back to being a family again.”
The Beckhams are even considering hopping on a flight to the United States to do it.
“Victoria, especially, has always dreamed of being a hands-on grandmother, and the thought of missing out is devastating,” explains the insider. “They know time is running out. They don’t want to miss this important stage in their son’s life.”
As for how Brooklyn and Nicola would feel about the idea, a separate source says it’s been “very hard” on them to be “on the receiving end of relentless attacks” so “any change of approach” could be “helpful.”

While their family relationships remain rocky, Brooklyn and Nicola are choosing to strengthen their own bond. On Saturday, August 2, the pair decided to quietly renew their vows, according to People.
“The event is about honoring the love and commitment they’ve built together over the years, and creating a memory that will stay with them forever,” a source spilled to the outlet of the romantic moment.
Earlier this year, Brooklyn also professed his affection for his wife in a sweet love letter shared to their Instagram Stories as they celebrated their third wedding anniversary.
“Dear Nicola, Happy anniversary baby x I love you so much and I continue to fall more in love with you every second,” the note read. “You make me a better man and I couldn’t ask for a better partner x you are my soul and my rock x I love you so much Nicola xx Love brooklyn xxxxxxx <3 <3.”
