Once again, there’s a jam packed programme of events for everyone to enjoy.
In the Moment: Capturing the Fleadh 2024 exhibition continues in Wexford Arts Centre from 10 am while Seachtain na Gaeilge events get under way from 10.30am.
The Wexford Fleadh Artisan Food Hall takes place daily from 10am until 5.30pm in Wexford Presbyterian Church on Anne Street.
Maidin Chaifé takes place in the Red Kettle cafe at 10.30am while Potaireacht le Rachel takes place in Westgate at 10.30am.
The musical instrument makers village opens in Selskar College at 11am while Michael Fortune will give a presentation on the Wexford’s Newfoundland connections in the library at 11am.
The Fusion Fighters exhibition takes place on Wexford’s quayfront at 11am. Also at 11am the WexWalks historical walking tour – The Norman Way begins at Wexford Arts Centre and another session at 3.30pm.

Gig rigs
The gig rig and jam sessions are also hugely popular and there’s a very exciting and varied line-up on offer today.
The programme for the Ardán na Sláine gig rig is: 3.10pm: Duchais; 3.40pm: Enniscorthy College Group; 4.30pm: Fethard St Mogue’s Music & Song; 5.40pm: Sastá Loop Group; 6.20pm: Danescastle U15 Band; 7pm: Filidh; 7.40pm: Áine Teape & Friends; 8:20pm MNÁ; 9pm: Traditional Arts Collective; 9.40pm Chris Berry Band.
The Wexford Home Preserves jam sessions take place from 6pm until 9pm. Joanne O’Connor and family will perform at 6pm; Darren and Cathal Cullliney will perform at 7pm and Lauren O’Neill and Eugene McKenna play from 8pm.

Entertainment for all
There will be an open session for young singers with Aileen Lambert at 12 in White’s of Wexford and the Crescent Quay craft market also gets under way on Crescent Quay at noon.
Scéalaiocht le Niall de Búrca, Ceardlann Rince ar an Sean nós le hIrene Cunningham and Siúlóid Staire le Brian Ó Cléirigh agus Rónán ÓFlaithbheartaigh will each take place at noon in Westgate.
Fusion Fighters will perform on Wexford quay at 1pm while at 1.30pm there will be Scéalaíocht le Niall de Búrca in Westgate.
At 2pm Rachel Ui Fhaoláin will discuss the role of language and emotive airs in traditional songs focusing on songs pertaining to Co Wexford in Wexford Arts Centre.
There will be an outdoor céilí with Rise the Dust Céilí Band at 2pm in Ardán na Slaine at 2pm and also at 2pm Sean Nós dancing with Niamh Page in Wexford Library.

Wexford Singers will hold an open session with Gavin Byrne in Whites of Wexford at 2pm and there will also be Scileanna Siorcas le Aidan Ring in Selskar.
At 2.30pm there will be Ceoil ó Chiláiste Pobail Inis Córthaidh in Selskar while Scoil Eigse will hold Seisiún Mór na hÉigse in St Peter’s College at 2.45pm.
At 3pm there will be a creative writing workshop for all the family with Caroline Busher in Wexford library.
At 2pm in Selskar there will be Fáilte go Cultúr na hÉireann while at 3.30pm there will be Steps for Sets workshops with Sharleen in Wexford Home Preserves jam session tent.
Launches and walks
There will be a CD launch of Close in Wexford Arts Centre at 4pm while the book launch of Heading to the Fleadh by Dr Méabh Ní Fhuartháin takes place in Wexford library at 4pm.
The Wexford Camino – a tour of ancient and modern Christian heritage sites leaves from Selskar Square at 4pm while the Guinness World Record attempt takes place in Chadwicks Wexford Park also at 4pm.
Beo i Selskar takes place at 4pm in Selskar while the Flanagan Brothers award takes place at 5pm in the Jerome Hynes Theatre at the National Opera House.
The 2025 recipient is London-based banjo player Mick O’Connor. Born in 1950 to Irish parents, Mick was inspired by Barney McKenna and became a key figure in traditional Irish music. He won multiple All-Ireland titles, toured internationally, collaborated with leading musicians, and recorded acclaimed works. As a long-time teacher in London, he has also greatly influenced the next generation of players.
At 6pm Twas Many a Wild Night CD launch takes place in Wexford Arts Centre.

Musical performances
At 6.30pm in Whites of Wexford the Parkinsons Choir and Chordiality Choir will perform while at 7pm there will be a Meitheal reunion in the Presentation concert hall.
Also at 7pm, The First Month of Summer, a CD by Conor Moriarty, will be launched in Wexford Library. In the Franciscan Friary at 7pm will be Light Fever – an evening of music, prayer and intercession.
3 on the Bund will perform at 7.30pm in Whites of Wexford while Tulua will perform at the same time in the Riverbank House Hotel in Ferrybank.
At 7.30pm there will be an international showcase concert in O’Reilly Theatre in the National Opera House while Angela Reid’s song launch of I’ll Still be Loving You will take place in Wexford Arts Centre.
There will be an open singing session with Marianne McAleer in Whites of Wexford at 8pm and the Abbey Céilí Band will perform in Clonard Community Centre at 9pm.
