UFC Fight Night 271 goes down Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle (Paramount+)

In the headliner, former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya (24-5 MMA, 13-5 UFC) will try to snap a three-fight skid against Joe Pyfer (15-3 MMA, 6-1 UFC). In the co-feature, ex-women’s flyweight champ Alexa Grasso (16-5-1 MMA, 8-5-1 UFC) takes on contender Maycee Barber (15-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC).

Round 1 – Hooper comes out peppering Gibson Jr. with leg kicks. Gibson Jr. is moving in and out and kicking back as both men engage. Hooper shoots for a takedown 45 seconds in but Gibson Jr. keeps his balance and lands some mean punches and elbows while Hooper is on his leg. Gibson Jr. breaks free and starts to kick the legs. Gibson Jr. lands a nice right hook to the body. The pace slows a bit but both are throwing with intent on their punches. They tie up off a caught kick and Hooper pushes Gibson Jr. to the fence. Gibson Jr. lands a vicious elbow and Hooper is hurt bad! Gibson Jr. lands two hard knees and the referee tackles him off Hooper while he’s trying to recover. The crowd boos during Gibson Jr.’s celebration, but the fight is over!

Tyrell Fortune vs. Marcin Tybura

Round 1 – Oh! Power double leg by Fortune! Big shots by Fortune! Tybura in danger here. Fortune inside Tybura’s half-guard. Short shots by Fortune. Tybura working his way back to his feet. Oh!
