The Glasgow City attacker netted a brilliant double within the space of just 90 seconds to down her side’s opponents and ensure City lifted their first Sky Sports Cup in 11 years.
It was an entertaining afternoon and both sides had their chances in front of goal. But it was Forrest who had the loudest say with her pair of goals, both of which differed in quality.
The first came from a set-piece. The corner was swung in from the left-hand side and bundled home at the back post by the opportunistic Forrest.
But there was no lack of quality with the second after she cut in from the left and sent a wicked effort from just outside the area into the top corner beyond goalkeeper Jenna Fife.

Rangers would eventually pull back what would ultimately turn out to be nothing more than a consolation goal from Katie Wilkinson and when match-winner Forrest was interviewed on Sky Sports after the final whistle, she chuckled at how she’ll show off to brothers James – and Alan of Hearts – the first chance she gets.
“It feels amazing. I can’t really put it into words right now,” she said. I’m just so glad for the team. It’s amazing. I just want to help the team as much as I can by leading the line so it’s a full team performance today.
“We are just happy overall.”
Asked specifically about her strikes, Forrest added: “I think it gave the full team confidence.
“For the second one, my teammates are always on to me for not shooting enough, so I looked up and saw the goal and thought I’m just going to hit it, and see what happens.
“I’m just grateful it went in. I think it’s got to be the top ranked goal I’ve scored. I’m buzzing.”
Asked about James, she laughed: “Yeah, I’ll be showing him my goals later on!”
