Cutberto Zamora was identified as the victim in the car wreck, which happened at about 7:45 a.m. Friday.

The crash also destroyed a restaurant at the corner of Grant Avenue and Jackson Street.

The driver of the sedan was trying to park his car when he struck two pedestrians on the sidewalk, killing Zamora, authorities said.

The driver, who has only been identified as a 76-year-old man, was cooperative with police at the crash site, authorities said. Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash, the preliminary investigation found.

An online fundraiser described Zamora as a “humble man who only wanted the best for his family.”

“Please help support the Zamora family through their sudden loss of Cutberto Zamora known as ‘Beto,’ a loving husband, father and sole provider for his wonderful family,” according to the GoFundMe post.
