LYONS, Ore. — An Oregon woman has been missing since Saturday night when her car ran out of gas along Highway 22, and she was picked up by a stranger who stopped and offered help.

Oregon State Police said Maria Linda Jade Kilmer and a passenger were driving to Salem from Lyons when at about 9 p.m. her vehicle ran out of gas near Milepost 15 along Highway 22.

“According to the passenger, Kilmer left the vehicle and departed with an unidentified motorist who had stopped at the scene,” state troopers said.

She hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

Kilmer left her keys, purse, ID and phone behind, troopers say.

She is described as having dark hair and blue eyes, she’s about 5-foot 8-inches tall, and weighing 180 pounds. She also has a piercing in the middle of her lower lip.

Kilmer is known to frequent the Willamette Valley from Salem to Portland.
