A Royal Navy spokesperson said: “The security of the nuclear deterrent is our highest priority, and we have robust processes in place to protect the security of our people and capabilities.
“We will not comment on individual cases.”

Her husband, David Taylor, was one of three political advisers who were released on bail after being accused of assisting a foreign intelligence service last month.
Reid voluntarily suspended herself from the Labour Party while an internal investigation was carried out, and is now sitting as an independent in the House of Commons.
