US crew member on fighter jet shot down over Iran has been rescued by US forces, per reports
The president did not mention possible negotiations with Iran. We also did not hear President Trump talk about that April 6th deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. President Trump used last night’s address to try and sell his rationale for the war. The president laid out objectives which we’ve heard him say before, including ensuring Iran can’t build *** nuclear weapon, eliminating their navy, which President Trump claims has been destroyed, and cripple Iran’s military. Trump and his administration had previously insisted the US and Israel obliterated Iran’s nuclear program and strikes last summer. But as thousands of US troops head to the Middle East to join thousands already there, the president didn’t signal any preparations for *** possible ground invasion by American troops. He also didn’t offer *** definitive end date for the conflict. We are on track to complete all of America’s military objectives shortly, very shortly. We’re going to hit them extremely hard over the next 2 to 3 weeks. We’re going to bring them back to the Stone Ages where they belong. During his speech, President Trump acknowledged that many Americans are concerned about those rising gas prices, even calling them short-term increases, but he did not offer any new measures to try and ease these economic worries. At the White House, I’m Rachel Hirsheimer.
