BALAZS TOTH – 8

Successive clean sheets for Toth. He didn’t have a great deal to do but was calm and assured when called upon. Great save to deny Doyle late on.

RYAN ALEBIOSU – 7

Provided a decent outlet on the right-hand side when he linked up with Morishita. Kept his side locked down.

TOM ATCHESON – 8

Wobbled a little bit early on but grew into the match. Another good display in a pressurised environment, especially given the fortnight he’s had.

SCOTT WHARTON – 7

Had little trouble on his first game back four months. Huge credit for a solid performance after so long out. Substituted after some treatment but walked off and didn’t look overly concerned.

SEAN MCLOUGHLIN – 7

Switched to the left side and was solid. Some good blocks and defensive headers. Got himself on a few attacking corner but couldn’t divert them goalwards.

HARRY PICKERING – 6

Looked a little low on confidence on the ball and missed a brilliant chance to score in the first half. Defended his flank well.

ADAM FORSHAW – 7

Composed in midfield on the ball. Managed himself well after picking up a very harsh yellow card early in the game.

MOUSSA BARADJI – 7

A better performance from Baradji. Used the ball far more intelligently and threaded some nice passes.

RYOYA MORISHITA – 7

Great movement for the goal to beat his marker and find Cantwell. Didn’t have lots of the ball otherwise but knitted things together.

TODD CANTWELL – 7

A mixed game. Started brightly, then missed a big chance and was poor for a period after. Better in the second half and took his goal brilliantly. A big moment which he’s needed to deliver.

YUKI OHASHI – 7

Hassled, harassed, and harried from minute one to 90. Was very unlucky with a shot on the swivel which Beadle kept out.

SUBSTITUTES:

KRISTI MONTGOMERY (MORISHITA, 74′) – 6

Kept the midfield compact after coming on.

YURI RIBEIRO (WHARTON, 84′) – N/A

Slightly reshuffle when Wharton went off. Pickering moved to LCB and he went to wing-back.

MATHIAS JORGENSEN (CANTWELL, 84′) – N/A

A late change in attack.

SIDNEI TAVARES (BARADJI, 90′) – N/A

On for seven minutes of stoppage time.

UNUSED SUBSTITUTES: Michalski, Mullarkey-Matthews, De Neve, Afolayan, Redmond.
