A gang stormed a pub in Cornwall and began attacking punters “without reason”, leaving “multiple people” injured.
The group tried to break into the White Hart Hotel, Launceston, at around 10.30pm last night during the venue’s weekly DJ evening.
A witness told how “multiple people” suffered minor facial injuries in the attack, after a group of around five people, who had been at the pub before, attacked smokers outside “without known reason or cause”.
Armed police were then called in, the witness said, followed by regular officers who began speaking to anyone who watched the chaos unfold, reports Cornwall Live. They said it has been going on “for several weeks”, with multiple people injured.

“At around 10pm we stopped them coming in,” a member of staff said. “One took out a belt and tried to hit people with it.” The gang left a back door damaged after trying to enter the premises through it, the employee added.
The staff member said the gang returned this morning, April 4, and there were fears they would return again tonight.
In a statement, Devon and Cornwall Police said it was reported the “men had assaulted numerous people in the pub” but had left by the time officers arrived, with enquiries now underway.
“We were called at 10.25pm on Friday, April 3 following a report of a group trying to gain entry to a licenced premises in Broad Street, Launceston, following an earlier altercation,” the force said.
“It was reported the men had assaulted numerous people in the pub and damaged a door prior in the evening.
“Officers attended but the suspects had left. Enquiries are ongoing.”
