An 18-year-old has been charged after a car rammed into the front door of a busy pub, injuring a doorman.

A man in his 30s, understood to be the pub’s bouncer, was hurt in the crash and required hospital treatment to leg and arm injuries.

Today, Frank Finn, of Broadstairs High Street, was charged with attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and dangerous driving.

Mr Finn, 18, has been remanded in custody to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Monday).

Footage shared online showed a black Seat Ibiza smashing into the pub in Albion Street.

Workers at the pub yell out, saying “don’t let anyone out” before the vehicle is seen travelling towards the building and hitting it.

The person filming the video, seen by KentOnline, backs into the doorway of the pub to avoid being struck.

It then reverses before hitting the wall a second time.

People can be heard screaming while Mark Morrison’s hit single Return of the Mack plays in the background.

Pieces of car bumper and debris from the building were left scattered in the road.

Damage to the pub’s entrance is clearly visible, with parts of the doorframe and brickwork exposed and two large holes in the wall either side of the blue front door.

On Guard Protection says a doorman was injured during the collision.

“We understand the police have detained a suspect and are continuing an investigation,” the firm said in a statement issued to KentOnline.

“Our thoughts are with the family of our injured employee, but at this time we cannot comment further as we do not wish to jeopardise any ongoing police investigation.”

KentOnline has approached The Dolphin pub for comment.
