A motorcyclist has died following a collision in the city’s east end.

Toronto police say officers responded at around 3:05 p.m. to reports of a motorcyclist struck by a vehicle in the Danforth Avenue and Byng Avenue area.

Police say a male motorcyclist was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.

There is no word on whether the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene but officials note the investigation is ongoing.

As a result, Danforth Avenue is closed between Byng Avenue and Robinson Avenue.
