Fire crews at significant South Auckland scrap yard blaze

Firefighters are battling a large scrap yard fire in South Auckland.

A Northern Fire Communications spokesman said they received multiple reports of a fire in Red Hill, Papakura, shortly before 4pm.

“We have six fire trucks in attendance and support vehicles enroute.”

He described the fire as “significant” and said
it had reached a second alarm.
