Police need to find all the suspects in what they called a hate-motivated assault in Waterloo that saw one victim attacked by several people.

Officers with Waterloo Regional Police Service were called out to the area of King Street North and Columbia Street East, around 2:30 Easter Sunday morning.

Police said there had been some kind of altercation at a business between a victim and approximately six male suspects.

Investigators said things escalated, and the victim was assaulted and hurt, suffering non-life threatening injuries.

Police later confirmed to 570 NewsRadio that racial slurs had been used.

The suspects allegedly fled in two vehicles: a black Acura SUV, and a white Honda Civic.

A news release said “police have determined the incident to be hate-motivated,” but it did not specify why. 570 NewsRadio has reached out for more information.

There are no suspect descriptions at this time.
