Blackstone Inc. and Thoma Bravo are in early-stage talks with Australian financial technology software provider Iress Ltd. over a possible takeover that could value the firm at about A$2 billion ($1.3 billion).
Iress is engaging with Blackstone and Thoma Bravo about whether an offer can be made that can be recommended by the Melbourne-based company’s board, according to a statement Friday. Iress had considered an earlier approach at a price of A$10.50 cash per share from Blackstone in relation to a potential acquisition, but that offer was withdrawn, the statement said.
