Anthony Joshua grabbed plenty of attention as he sat ringside for Tyson Fury‘s fight – recording some of the bout on his phone.

AJ has not been seen in the ring since he was involved in a tragic car crash back in Africa, but he was in London to watch the Gypsy King make his return from retirement. Fury saw off Arslanbek Makhmudov, winning via unanimous points decision in a fight he dominated.

Joshua was watching on closely, seemingly analysing his opponent, and even went as far as to record the fight himself. There is again plenty of talk of an all-British bout involving him and Fury, the type of which has been talked about for a decade.

Fury’s only blemish on his CV remains his losses to Oleksandr Usyk whilst Joshua is looking to underline his status as one of the heavyweight division’s elite after his loss to Daniel Dubois more than 18 months ago. Nevertheless a bout between the two would still prove to be a blockbuster.

The Gypsy King tried to make in happen in the minutes after his fight as he laid down the challenge. He said: “Next, I want to give you the fight you’ve all been waiting for. I want you, AJ, Anthony Joshua. Let’s give the fight fans what they want – the Battle of Britain. I challenge you Anthony Joshua to fight me, the Gypsy King, next. Do you accept my challenge?”

Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, stood next to Fury and was clearly keen for Joshua to accept – but he remained calmed, staring at Fury from his seat, before eventually getting hold of a microphone.

“I’ve never had no problem getting in a ring with you,” he replied. “I punched you up when we were kids and, after watching you tonight, I’ll punch you up again. With all due respect, tonight is your night and you know I’ll be across that ring from you in due time. You ain’t going to tell me what to do.

“I’ve been chasing you for the last 10 years. When you’re ready, you come and see me and tell me your terms and conditions and I’ll have you in the ring when I’m ready. I’m the boss, you work for me. I’m the landlord. Remember that. You work for me.”

Minutes later Joshua provided more information, where he stated that it was likely the pair would square off. He said: “In my heart I’ll fight Tyson Fury tomorrow, especially after watching that. It’s not a problem with me fighting, but I’m not here to get clout, I’m here to fight. Contracts will be sent over. We’ll go through the nitty-gritty and you’ll probably see us in the ring next, more than likely.”
