Investing.com — Dell Technologies (NYSE:DELL) shares rose 6% Monday, while HP Inc. (NYSE:HPQ) gained 5%, following reports that Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) has been in negotiations to acquire a major PC manufacturer.
According to SemiAccurate, Nvidia has been in negotiations for over a year to acquire a large company in a deal that could reshape the PC and server landscape. The report stated that Nvidia is looking to make a purchase that will reshape the industry “like nothing else has done since the computer was invented.”
The report did not specify which company Nvidia might be targeting, though the market response suggests investors are speculating that either Dell or HP could be potential acquisition candidates.
Neither Nvidia, Dell, nor HP have commented on the report or confirmed any ongoing acquisition discussions.
