Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Australia trip kicks off today (which is Tuesday Down Under due to the time difference). Over the week, the couple will carry out engagements across Melbourne, Canberra, and Sydney, focusing on “mental health, community resilience, and support for veterans and their families,” according to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s office.

T&C understands the couple were invited to Australia by a number of groups, and their visit is being privately funded. Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are not expected to join them. The Sussexes last visited Australia in October 2018, as part of a longer royal tour of the Pacific.

In Prince Harry’s memoir Spare, he wrote about the reaction to Meghan during their trip. “Everywhere we went, enormous crowds turned out, and she didn’t disappoint them. All across Australia, Tonga, Fiji, New Zealand, she dazzled,” he detailed. “After one especially rousing speech, she got a standing ovation. She was so brilliant that midway through the tour I felt compelled…to warn her. You’re doing too well, my love. Too damn well. You’re making it look too easy. This is how everything started…with my mother. Maybe I sounded mad, paranoid. But everyone knew that Mummy’s situation went from bad to worse when she showed the world, showed the family, that she was better at touring, better at connecting with people, better at being ‘royal,’ than she had any right to be.”

Here’s their 2026 Australia schedule:

Tuesday, April 14: Melbourne

The Sussexes will visit the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, then Meghan will undertake a solo visit to a women’s shelter in the city. In the evening, the couple will meet with veteran families at Australian National Veterans’ Art Museum.

Wednesday, April 15: Melbourne and Canberra

In the morning, Harry will visit with Movember at the Western Bulldogs HQ, and then he will head to Canberra to visit The Australian War Memorial, visit with Indigenous Veterans, and attend a reception for Invictus Australia and attend the Last Post Ceremony.

Thursday, April 16: Melbourne

To start their day, the Sussexes will participate in the Scar Tree Walk, led by the Koorie Heritage Trust. They will then appear at an event with batyr, an Australian mental health organization, at Swinburne University. In the evening, they will attend the InterEdge Summit.

Friday, April 17: Sydney

Harry and Meghan will join Invictus Australia sailing around Sydney Harbor, and then attend the NSW Waratahs versus Moana Pasifika rugby match in the evening.

Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19: Sydney

Meghan will participate in a “girls’ weekend like no other” with the Her Best Life podcast community in Sydney.

While not on her official itinerary released by their office, the podcast notes, “Join us for an intimate luxury weekend by the ocean designed to bring women together for powerful conversations, relaxation, laughter and unforgettable experiences. Set at the stunning InterContinental Coogee Beach, this exclusive retreat brings the Her Best Life community to life through inspiring speakers, meaningful connection and plenty of time to unwind and celebrate. The highlight of the weekend will be an in-person conversation with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.”
