Toll rates for some users of the Ambassador Bridge have been reduced, just months after being increased.
An updated toll chart posted on the bridge’s website Sunday shows lower rates for Premier card holders following a hike implemented in January.
As of January 2026, a single vehicle using a Premier card could cross the bridge for $10 US. As of Monday, that fare drops to US$5.50.
There are no changes to tolls paid by cash or credit card.

The reduction comes amid fallout from reports that the owner of the Ambassador Bridge lobbied U.S. officials to delay the opening of the competing Gordie Howe International Bridge. Following those revelations, some critics — including a Windsor city councillor — urged residents to consider alternative crossings into Detroit.
Earlier this month, reports also indicated the Ambassador Bridge had lost its long‑held position as North America’s busiest truck crossing. No changes have been made to commercial tolls.
Tolls at the Gordie Howe International Bridge have been set at US$4.35 through a membership program.
The Gordie Howe bridge is expected to open later this spring, though an official opening date has not been announced.
