Here are Thursday’s updates from the U.S.-Iran cease-fire and Israel’s war with Hezbollah:
■ Israeli strikes killed 43 people in Lebanon on Wednesday, wounding a further 140, the Lebanese Health Ministry reported, with a total of 2,167 killed since March 2.
■ Israeli fire killed eight people in the Gaza Strip within the past 24 hours, wounding a further 29, the Gaza Health Ministry reported Wednesday. According to reports in Gaza, the death toll is higher, standing at ten.
■ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he ordered the Israeli military to expand the IDF-occupied area in Lebanon toward parts of the Syrian border, adding that Israel is ready to renew strikes on Iran.
■ IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said the Israeli military is on high alert, adding that he “approved further plans” for the ongoing war, “both in Lebanon and in Iran.”
■ U.S. President Donald Trump said the Iran war is nearing its end and threatened to “take out” the country’s bridges and power plants as the sides are eyeing renewed talks.
■ Israeli settlers attacked Palestinians with pepper spray in Masafer Yatta in the southern West Bank, wounding two, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported.
■ Israel Police said they arrested an Israeli soldier in connection with a shooting that killed one Palestinian and wounded several others in the West Bank village of Qusra, near Nablus.
