While Calgary got a pretty good dump of snow, it’s looking like it won’t last, as a massive 32-degree temperature swing is in the forecast.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), Calgary is set to see some serious heat after the big dump of snow, with daytime temperatures pushing past 20°C next week.

Thursday is set to be the coldest day forecast, with the daytime high reaching just -4°C with heavy snow at times. Overnight, the temperature drops to a chilly -9°C with a chance of flurries.

Friday brings us back above freezing with daytime temperatures reaching 5°C with a chance of rain showers or flurries, before dropping back to -3°C overnight.

Rolling into the weekend, the sun is forecast to shine with Saturday seeing a high of 8°C, followed by an overnight low of -1°C. It’s only up from there, with daytime temperatures reaching 13°C on Sunday, and only falling to 4°C overnight.

Monday is bringing some heat with temperatures reaching 17°C during the day and dropping to just 6°C at night.

Tuesday is when we are in for a treat, with daytime temperatures reaching a scorching 23°C, a whopping 32-degree temperature change from Thursday’s overnight low of -9°C.  

Friday is almost as nice with temperatures reaching 19°C. According to ECCC, the average high for this time of year in Calgary is 12°C, and the average low is -1°C.
