A woman is fighting for her life in hospital after being hit by a vehicle in southwest Calgary on Friday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of 26 Avenue SW and 34 Street SW around 1:35 p.m. for reports of a crash.
A woman was rushed to hospital with what her initially thought to be serious but stable injuries. EMS tell CityNews the victim went into critical condition on the way to the hospital.
Police say the driver remained at the scene. They were checked by paramedics but not taken to hospital.
26 Avenue SW was shut down between 33 Street and 35 Street SW for the investigation. The roads have since reopened.
