In January 2025, despite Justice Minister Yariv Levin’s displeasure, and only thanks to a Supreme Court ruling, the Judicial Appointments Committee chose Justice Isaac Amit to be the new Supreme Court president. But after Amit was appointed, Levin merely intensified his boycott of him and refused to discuss either judicial appointments or other senior appointments in the judicial system with him.
