Fire crews have now been at the scene of the blaze for more than three hours.

Eight fire engines and three specialist appliances from across Greater Manchester were called to the building fire on Milltown Street, Radcliffe.

“Our crews arrived quickly and remain in attendance using jets and turntable ladders to extinguish the fire,” Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said.

“Residents are still asked to avoid the area and close their windows and doors if they live nearby.”
