Craig Porter is wanted by Merseyside Police
A man who was accused of abducting a waitress in Marbella before she disappeared has evaded police for six months. Craig Porter was handed a suspended sentence for being an accomplice in coercion after being cleared of kidnapping Latvian waitress Agnese Klavina from Marbella.
Porter faced trial alongside friend Westley Capper where they were both told they would avoid prison time after being found guilty of coercion and for being an accomplice in coercion respectively. The charge of kidnapping, which they both faced, would have seen them locked up for 12 years but was not proven in court.
Porter walked away with a six-month suspended sentence.
According to reports in the local media at the time, the judge stated they had conspired to force her into their car following a night out at a Marbella night club, with the waitress, who was 30 at the time of her disappearance, not being seen since.
CCTV showed the Westley holding on Ms Klavina’s arm before moving her towards a Mercedes S63 while Porter waited in the car in the early hours of September 2014.
The trial heard how Capper was seen carrying a large bag onto his dad’s boat four days later. Capper told the trial how he had dropped her off before her disappearance. Prosecuters alleged Ms Klavina has been killed and her body disposed of at sea.
Porter claimed he had fallen asleep in the back of the car due to being drunk and tired.
During sentencing in 2019, the pair were ordered to pay €10,000 to the family of Ms Klavina.
Two years after the disappearance of the European waitress, Porter was back in court alongside his friend after he was a passenger in Capper’s car when he hit and killed Bolivian mum Fatima Dorado in San Pedro de Alcantara.
Capper, who was found to have alcohol and drugs in his system, was handed another suspended sentence when he admitted mansalughter after it was reported he paid compensation to the woman’s family.
The Olive Press broke the news in 2021 how Capper had died after contracting Covid-19. He is believed to have died from a stroke as a result of the virus.
Merseyside Police is now hunting for Porter after he breached his licence conditions following his release after serving a sentence for domestic offences.
The police force issued an appeal for information in October but the 43-year-old is yet to be found.
He is described as 5ft 10in tall, of stocky build and has short brown hair.
Porter has links with Liverpool and Wirral.
