A man in his 60s has died after a single-vehicle crash in Cahir, Co Tipperary.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to the incident on the N4 in Kilmoyler at approximately 10.40am.

The driver and sole occupant of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been taken to Tipperary University Hospital and a post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.

The road remains closed for forensic investigation with local diversions in place.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 10.30am and 11am have been asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
