A motorcyclist in his 40s has died after a crash this afternoon in Waterford city.
Gardaà and emergency services responded to the scene of the crash involving a car and a motorcycle on the Williamstown road at around 1pm.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been removed to University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
The driver of the car, a woman in her 30s, was taken to University Hospital Waterford with non life-threatening injuries.
The road remains closed for forensic investigation with local diversions in place.
Gardaà have appealed for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 12.50pm and 1.30pm have been asked to make this footage available to gardaÃ.
Homeowners along the Williamstown Road who may have CCTV footage have also been asked to make this available.
