A wild stray dog in Letterkenny that has been without a home in over half a year has been rescued and brought to a new home.
The dog has been subject to much intrigue in the town for the last seven months, becoming a recognisable figure for many as it was often spotted in the area of the Neil T Blaney Road.
Many had queried if maybe the dog had gone missing – but it was simply the case of a wild dog that found himself in the town.
And now, thanks to the efforts of a local man, a vet and a wildlife park, “Misha” now has a true place to call home.
Wild Ireland owner Killian McLaughlin shared the story of the newly-named Misha via his social media pages today, as he assisted in helping the pup.
Killian, along with the help of Mulroy Veterinary and two local rescue volunteers who were familiar with the dog, Tara and Paul, set out to capture Misha so he could be properly taken care of and given a new home.
Unfortunately prior attempts to capture Misha so he could be given veterinary care had been unsuccessful, so a tranquiliser was required in order to calm him down and enable his proper care.
After a once-over from the Mulroy Vets, Misha was able to come home in the care of Tara, becoming the latest member of her family.
