Fight breaks out at David Lloyd gym changing room in Merseyside
Two men have been arrested after a fight broke out at a David Lloyd gym in Merseyside yesterday.
Merseyside Police said officers were called to the gym on Knowsley Industrial Estate on Arbour Lane at around 6.10pm following reports of two men found injured after fighting.
The force said a 46-year-old man from Brighton-le-Sands and a 53-year-old man from Netherley were both found at the scene and arrested on suspicion of affray. They were taken to police stations to be questioned.
In videos shared widely online, two men were seen fighting in what appears to be the men’s changing room of the gym. A witness told the Liverpool Echo how staff were called over the tannoy to the men’s changing room following an altercation.

One video shared online shows a man being led away by officers after a patrol car arrived at the gym. Merseyside Police said it was aware of “social media video of the incident” and urged people “not to comment on such channels”.
Detective inspector Edward Barr labelled the incident “shocking” as children were in the gym at the time of the fight. He said: “This would have been a shocking incident to witness, carried out in full view of members of the public nearby, including children.
“We are gathering all available evidence and want to speak to anyone who saw what happened, or has since received information. Two men are in custody and we are working hard to establish the timeline of this incident.
“We are aware of social media video of the incident and I would urge people with information not to comment on such channels, but come into us directly so as not to hinder the investigation.”
