Former Finn Harps boss Ollie Horgan has left his job with Galway United.

The Galway native was in charge at Finn Park from the end of 2013 until 2022, a spell that saw numerous successful promotion campaigns to the Premier Division.

He joined the backroom staff of current Galway United boss John Caufield in 2023 as assistant manager, helping to guide the Galwegians back to the Premier Division also.

The club thanked Horgan for his contributions after announcing his departure earlier today.

“Ollie joined the club ahead of the 2023 season and brought with him his trademark energy, experience, and unwavering commitment,” Galway United said.

“His contribution was instrumental in our First Division title success and our return to the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division. We sincerely thank Ollie for his hard work and dedication during his time with the club and wish him all the very best. Beir bua agus beannacht, a chara.”

Jon Daly will now take Horgan’s place as assistant manager at the club, which currently lies 8th in the Premier Division.
