Lithuanian leader Rabbi Moshe Hillel Hirsch visited Prison 10 near Beit Lid where three yeshiva students who received IDF draft orders, refused to report to the recruitment office, and were arrested last weekend. The visit was allowed contrary to military regulations, which require eight days to pass from the time of arrest before allowing visits. Hirsch was accompanied by members of the Shas Council of Torah Sages, Rabbi Avraham Selim and Rabbi Moshe Maya. The IDF stated that these were different types of visits compared to the general population, intended to allow rabbis to verify that the detainees’ religious conditions were maintained, including receiving food with appropriate kosher certification and time for prayer in the synagogue.
