Celtic made it two wins from two as they cruised to victory against Aberdeen.

Brendan Rodgers made one change from the win against St Mirren as James Forrest came in for Hyunjun Yang.

Pittodrie has been a happy hunting ground for the Bhoys in the past but it’s safe to say that the first half was uninspiring.

For all of the sloppiness they were still able to take the lead as Benjamin Nygren turned home Kieran Tierney’s wicked delivery into the box.

Reo Hatate then made sure of the win on the 65th minute as Nygren cut inside and dropped the ball back to the midfielder, who was able to curl the ball around the Aberdeen defender and let the ball ricochet off the bar and back into the net.

Shin Yamada was even brought on to make his debut for the Bhoys as they made light work of the Dons and open up a four-point gap on Rangers already.

With that, here is how 67 Hail Hail rated the performance of each player.

Made some very good saves early on in the game as the hosts tried to put the pressure on early doors. Will be glad to bury some demons after his Scottish Cup final error against Aberdeen.

Alistair Johnston – 6

Always desperate to make those lung-busting runs forward. Did fall asleep and almost cost Celtic a goal by not tracking his man, however, he was largely solid.

Cameron Carter-Vickers – 7

As solid as ever at the back. You always feel safe with him in defence.

Liam Scales – 5

Impressed last week but struggled a lot more today. Some Celtic fans have lost patience with Scales and now that there are four capable replacements in the squad, he will be looking over his shoulder

Kieran Tierney – 7

Still getting up to speed but looks so good when going forward. The cross for Nygren’s goal was excellent and we can’t wait to see more of that.

Reo Hatate – 7

The beauty of Reo Hatate is that he can be quiet for large spells of the match and produce something out of nothing.

His goal was top drawer and it’s why he is in the side every week, for moments like that.

Callum McGregor (C) – 6

Kept things ticking over, as always. One thing you can always expect from Callum McGregor is discipline.

Benjamin Nygren – 9

Ran the show in the middle of the park. Thoroughly deserved to open his account, played a part in the second goal and delivered some breathtaking passes.

He’s looking like a bargain already and a joy to watch.

🍀”That is how to get your Celtic career going!”

James Forrest – 6

Not as effective as he was off the bench last week. Crossing needs a bit more work but he did okay for the large part.

Adam Idah – 5

Once again struggled with his hold-up play and didn’t even get a clear chance on goal. Patience is wearing thin and it’s only a matter of time before Brendan Rodgers starts with someone else.

Daizen Maeda – 5

Still not going yet this season. Was so, so deadly in front of goal last time but he barely had a sniff until he raced away through one-on-one before slipping over moments before pulling the trigger.
