A resident of the southern Bedouin city of Rahat was arrested on suspicion of inciting terror and supporting Hamas, Israel Police and the Shin Bet security agency said in a joint statement.
The agencies arrested the suspect, Badr bin Yussef Hasanat, 24, in a joint operation after investigating him for allegedly sharing pro-Hamas content on social media, as well as messages praising, supporting and inciting acts of terrorism, the agencies said.
The State Prosecutor’s Office said it had pressed charges against Hasanat, citing one instance in which the suspect had allegedly posted a photo of assassinated Hamas leaders set to a song with the lyrics: “They are heroes who left this world but did not surrender or suffer humiliation; they sold their souls to Allah, and death was not difficult for them.”
