A man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody

Tributes have been left close to the scene where a musician was fatally stabbed. Police raced to Raby Street at around 11pm on Friday night. (May 8).
A man in his 30s was taken to hospital, where he sadly later died. The man has since been named by friends as Dre Brown. His full first name was Adrian, it is understood.
Mr Brown was a musician, going by the name StanaMan. He is understood to have had three children.

An 18 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody for questioning, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed this morning (Sunday).
A cordon remains in place on Raby Street. Officers in white forensic suits are to continuing work at the scene, with a blue forensic tent remaining in place and yellow evidence markers having been placed at points inside the police tape.

A number of floral tributes have also been laid nearby. A large pink and white heart-shaped wreath has been left with the words ‘world’s best’ on it.
A message on another bunch of flowers reads: “Rest in eternal peace, Adrian, aka Stanna Man. Rest well, thinking of your family and friends at this sad time.”
Tributes to Mr Brown are also continuing to flood in on social media. One friend said: “Such a lovely young man. Rest in paradise Dre taken far to soon. Sending prayers to your family.”

Another said: “R.I.P Adrian. Such a kind soul! Always happy and smiling. You will missed by many.” A third said: “R.E.I.P Dre you were a gooden fly high bro.” Whilst another added: “RIEP Adrian. Will always love your music.”
GMP said yesterday that an investigation was ‘ongoing’ and that officers were ‘exhausting all lines of enquiry to establish the full circumstances and those involved.’
Detective Superintendent Toby Facey, from the force, said: “This was a shocking act of violence, and our thoughts remain with the victim and his family at this incredibly difficult time. They continue to be supported by our specialist officers.

“I would like to reassure the community that we believe this was a targeted attack and poses no wider risk to the public. We understand this is a deeply concerning incident, and we will have extra patrols in the area. I encourage anyone with concerns or queries to please speak with our teams.
“Scenes remain in place and our officers will work throughout the day to conduct their investigation.”
