A 32-year-old has faced court accused of leading police on a chase across Sydney.

Two weeks ago, he was on police’s radar as a missing person.

And last night, Nicholas McFarlane Thomson was again, this time accused of being at odds with the law.

It all started around 11pm.

McFarlane Thomson allegedly collided with another car at South Coogee and then fled.

Police then spotted him at Randwick.

They tried to stop him and when he alegedly refused, a chase started, through Maroubra and into Kingsford where the first road spikes were deployed

But he couldn’t be stopped and drove through Surry Hills, crossing the Harbour Bridge and through North Sydney.

He continued onto Turramurra with his car limping down the road followed by almost a dozen police cars.

It wasn’t long before his car ran out of steam.

A roadside drug test returned a positive result, with secondary results still to come back.

McFarlane Thomson represented himself in court today.

He argued he didn’t stop because he’s not comfortable with police because of his past.

He was granted conditional bail and will front court again in September
